The Vice President of Ramnagara District Janajagruthi Vedike and Social Worker Sri. Srinivas Gowda inaugurated the handover programme of 707th rejuvenated Tondebhavi lake and saplings planting programme organized at Gouribidanur Taluk and said the ground water level will increase as the lake was rejuvenated by SKDRDP. Also, the farmers will get the fertile soil for their land. He said he is proud to be the part of this programme.
SKDRDP is rejuvenating the lakes across the Karnataka State. SKDRDP has sanctioned Rs. 17.50 lakh to lift the silt from Tondebhavi lake. About 2400 loads of fertile soil was used by farmers for their land. These works took one and half month to complete. The saplings were also planted around the lake. Further the protection of the lake is the responsibility of Gram Panchayat, said Director of Chikkaballapura District Prashanth C S. The members of Gram Panchayat, Project Officers, Supervisors, Sevaprathinidhis and Villagers were present in the programme.
