SKDRDP Launches Mechanized Paddy Cultivation in Nonavinakere

In Nonavinakere village of Tiptur Rural Taluk the program for mechanized paddy cultivation was launched through the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project. Shri Abhinava Kadasiddeshwara Swamiji of Kadasiddeshwara Mutt graced the event as the chief guest and inaugurating the programme by handing over paddy seedlings to the farmers.
Shri Satish Suvarna, Director of Tumkur-1 District,spoke about the farmer-centric programs of SKDRDP, such as Nammuru Namma Kere Siridhanya Besaya, Social Forestry Programme, Agricultural Study Tours, Agricultural Training Programs and other community development initiatives of the project.
Shri Sudhir Jain, Project Officer of the ‘Yantrashri’ programme, stated that farmers in the Nonavinakere region had stopped paddy cultivation for several years. In 2023, mechanized paddy cultivation was experimentally carried out on 32 acres by 20 farmers. Subsequently, in 2024, 450 acres were brought under paddy cultivation. Currently, in 2025, paddy cultivation is being done on more than 650 acres. He expressed his opinion that farmers showing interest in modern agriculture is a positive development.
During the programme, Smt. Divya, Agriculture Officer of Raitha Samparka Kendra provided information about departmental facilities.
The program was presided over by Smt. Jayamma, President of the Grama Panchayat. Progressive farmers Shri Swamy and Shri Prakash and other delegates.
