Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: The Savitha Story

Smt. Savitha, a resident of Aralaguppe in Tumakuru district, lives with her family of three. Her husband works at a petrol pump. During the COVID-19 lockdown, her husband was unable to go to work. As a result, they began making nippattu for themselves. Slowly, they started selling the nippattu to various shops, and it gradually turned into a business. They initially started the business with three members, and now it has grown to seven. She took a loan under the Pragathinidhi program of SKDRDP to expand the business on a larger scale. She is an excellent example for many women, demonstrating the saying, “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
