Navajeevanotsava: A Celebration of New Life and Sobriety in Sankeshwar

On February 12, 2026, the Navajeevanotsava was held at the Basaveshwara Temple in Sankeshwar. Organized by the SKDRDP B.C. Trust and Janajagruthi Vedike Trust, the event celebrated the successful rehabilitation of members from the Liquor-Free New Life Committee. Key participants included Inaugurator Shri Shripal Munnoli, District Director Shri Vittal Saalyan, Vice President Shri P.G. Konnur, and Project Officers Shri Bhaskar N. and Shri Vinayaka Kakambi, alongside 2029th camp officials and the families of the rehabilitated members.
The guests highlighted that Dr. Veerendra Heggade’s de-addiction camps are unique for transforming a person’s inner character quickly and affordably. Shri Shripal Munnoli warned against the dangers of alcohol, while Shri Vittal Saalyan emphasized that sobriety leads to social respect, financial savings, and family peace. Shri P.G. Konnur and Shri Bhaskar N. encouraged members to stay active in social and religious activities and stressed the importance of attending weekly meetings to maintain their new, stable lifestyle.
The list of participants and attendees included several key officials and community members. The program was inaugurated by Shri Shripal Munnoli Organizing President, District Janajagruthi Vedike. Notable chief guests included Shri Vittal Saalyan District Director, Shri P.G. Konnur Vice President, Janajagruthi Vedike, and Shri Vishwanath and Shri Annappa Parit Members, Janajagruthi Vedike. Additionally, Shri Santosh Patil President of the 2029th Camp and Shri Bhaskar N. Regional Project Officer provided guidance. The event was managed by Shri Vinayaka Kakambi Project Officer and Shri Shyam Supervisor, with support from office bearers Shri Kiran Nesari, Shri Vijay Bhosle, and Shri Annayya Basavanapujari. Most importantly, the rehabilitated members of the New Life Committee and their families participated to share their personal experiences.
