Sanitation Initiative Launched under Vima Grama Scheme in Agadi

The programme was conducted under the Insurance Village Programme implemented by SKDRDP in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The event took place at Agadi village, Haveri Taluk, Haveri District, where a newly constructed toilet at Shri Sheshachala Sadguru Aided High School was formally handed over.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shivaraya Prabhu,District Director highlighted the importance of sanitation and safety. He emphasized that many unfortunate incidents have occurred due to open defecation, especially affecting women and girls. He appreciated the construction of toilets as a meaningful initiative that ensures dignity, safety, and health. He also encouraged students to promote toilet usage at home and contribute towards maintaining cleanliness in the village.

LIC Micro Insurance Division Manager Shri Narasimha rao stated that LIC allocates a portion of its profits towards social development and basic infrastructure in selected insurance villages. He appreciated SKDRDP for its continuous efforts toward rural development and welfare. He also advised people to adopt savings habits and secure their future through LIC insurance policies, ensuring financial protection for their families.

The programme was attended by Shri Nijalingappa Basaganni, District Janajagruti  Member, Prashant, LIC Branch Manager, Shrimurthy Shetty, Taluk Project Officer, Krishnamurthy N. along with school teachers and School Development Committee members.
