Mr. Jaya Shetty is a resident of Guruvayanakere Village, Belthangady Taluk. He is a member of KrishnaJyothi Self-Help Group from past 3 years. His wife Smt. Prabhavathi is a member of Sugama-A Self-Help Group. They have two children, son studying in Chennai and the daughter studying MSc. Jaya Shetty had studied upto 7th standard. Before joining to the group, he was working as coolie. They borrowed loan of Rs. 1,50,000 and bought a Holige making machine. They prepare holige and supplies to the nearby shops and earns income of Rs. 60,000/- per month excluding all the other expenses. At present, their family is living a better life after starting self-employment by borrowing loan form self-help group. They have become a model for self-employment in their village.
