A meeting of the Disaster Management Committee’s unit representatives and coordinators from Virajpet, Madikeri, and Somawarpete taluks, under the purview of the SKDRDP in Kodagu district, was held at the District Agricultural Training Center, Kudige. Officials from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also present.
Shri Vivek V. Payas, Regional Director of the Janajagruthi Vedike, explained the background and service activities of the disaster management program. He also presented a letter of cooperation from the disaster management volunteers to the NDRF officials.
NDRF Inspector Shri Ajay Kumar expressed his pleasure at the large number of volunteers in Karnataka. He emphasized the crucial role of SKDRDP’s disaster management volunteers in NDRF’s disaster operations and commended the vision of the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala.
The programme was attended by Shri T Ranga Swamy, President of the Jana Jagruthi Vedike of Kodagu, Smt Leelavathi District president and other delegates.
