In a collaborative effort, Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, Ramnagara Taluk District Janajagruthi Vedike, District Tobacco Control Cell, Ramnagara, and Ramnagara City Police Station jointly organized International Anti-Drug Day at Ghausia Pre-University College.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Yogesh Assistant sub inspector of Ramnagara City Police Station, Shri Chikkannayya, Founder President of District Janajagruthi Vedike, Shri Nazarulla, college principal and Shri Jayakar Shetty, District Director, by lighting the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Yogesh guided the students on the ill effects of tobacco product consumption and the legal penalties associated with it. Following this, Shri Jayakar Shetty, the District Director, spoke about the organization’s programs, public awareness initiatives, and the impact of drug use on personal lives. Shri Chikkanna, Founder President of the District Janajagruthi Vedike, provided information to the students about current opportunities for shaping their future.
Shri Chandrashekhar and Shri Fayaz Ahmed, psychologists from the Tobacco Control Cell, explained about intoxicating substances, their adverse effects on health, and available treatment methods.
Also present at the event were Nalina from the Tobacco Control Cell, Janajagruthi Vedike office bearers Manjunath and Chandru, Shri Chandru, owner of Diagnosis, Muralidhar A, Taluk Project Officer, Srinivasa, Zonal Supervisor, and Seva Pratinidhi Lata.
