On 26-07-2025, a ‘Swasthya Sankalpa’ program was organized by the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project at .O.A. College in the Hangal zone. The program was presided over by Shri Kalyan Kumar Shettar, President of the Akhila Karnataka District Janajagruthi Vedike. The distinguished writer and principal, Shri Maruthi Siddapura, served as the resource person. Also present were Smt. Anitha, the college principal, and Shri Raghuram, the taluk’s project officer.
The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries. The taluk’s district officer gave the introductory speech.
Addressing the program, Shri Kalyan Kumar Shettar emphasized that health is crucial for everyone and that it is our collective responsibility to maintain it. He said, “If our health is good, our life will be easy. As the saying goes, ‘Health is wealth,’ we should protect our health without becoming addicted to any bad habits.”
The resource person, Shri Maruthi Siddapura, a renowned writer and principal, provided extensive guidance and information using examples from his personal life. He spoke about how students should build their lives, protect their health, respect their parents, behave with friends, and what kind of food to eat to improve their health.
College Principal Smt. Anita also addressed the gathering. She expressed her happiness, stating that the program provided excellent information and guidance to the college students. She added that since the program took place on the day of the Nagara Panchami festival, the students’ presence at the college to gain this information felt like they celebrated the festival there itself.
