Vatsalya Program Provides Home to Sannamma in Tiptur Taluk.

The Vatsalya home under Vatsalya program of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, was handed over to Sannamma, a member of the Hullekere village of Tiptur taluk.

Tumkur District Director Shri Satish Suvarna, who presided over the handover, spoke about the 800 year history of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala. He highlighted the four pillars of charity practiced there: Annadana , Vidyadana , Aushadha Dana and Abhayadana.

The Vatsalya program, an initiative by Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade ji and his wife Smt. Hemavathi V. Heggade, under this program total nine Vatsalya homes in the Tiptur taluk has constructed and distributed to them. He also mentioned that beneficiaries receive Vatsalya kits, which include clothes, a mat, a pillow, a blanket, and utensils, along with a monthly stipend of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 3000.

Shri Harish Gowda, a member of the District Janajagruti Vedike, praised the project for its meaningful work in helping the elderly, often with the support of students. The event was attended by Shri Uday K, the Project Officer; Smt.Sangeetha, the Regional Jnana Vikasa Project Officer and other area representatives and members of self-help groups.
