The Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) Tumkur-1 District, successfully organized the “Gandhi Smriti and Felicitation Program for Navajeevana Members” at Gurukula Kalyana Mantapa in Tiptur Taluk. The event began with a large, successful procession featuring over a thousand people. The formal inauguration was led by the State Railway and Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri V. Somanna and Tiptur MLA Shri K. Shadakshari.

In his address, Minister V. Somanna praised the spiritual influence of Dharmasthala and applauded the far sighted vision of Revered Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade ji, stating that he works tirelessly for the poor and is the “Kalpataru of Our Land.” He expressed his joy that the SKDRDP is effectively bridging the gap between government schemes and common citizens, performing a great service alongside state and central efforts. MLA K. Shadakshari stated that, who presided over the event, proudly listed the SKDRDP’s contributions to the taluk over the past 14 years, including lake rejuvenation, scholarships, pure drinking water, and the life-changing de-addiction camps.

The program also featured spiritual guidance from Shri Shri Himmadikari Basavadeshikendra Mahaswamiji emphasized the importance of Gandhian principles, self-improvement, and leading a righteous, alcohol-free life to build a healthy society. Shri B. R. Guruprasad served as the resource person. The event concluded with the felicitation to the Navajeevana members. Among those present were Shri Satish Suvarna Tumkur-1 District Director,Shri Amarnath Shetty President, District Jana Jagruthi Vedike, and other delegates.
