Handover of the 877th Small Lake at Kirugavalu Village

On 25.11.2025, under the initiative of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), Malavalli Taluk, Kirugavalu Zone, in collaboration with Kirugavalu Gram Panchayat and the Lake Development Committee, the 877th small lake at Kirugavalu village was officially handed over to the Panchayat and Committee members.
The programme was graced by Mandya District Director Smt. Chetana M, Lake Committee President Shri Mahesh, Gram Panchayat President Inayath Kathun, Vice President Mahadev Gowda, Panchayat Development Officer Shri Harishankar, Project Officer Lokesh, office-bearers of the Lake Committee, village elders, and community members. In the presence of all dignitaries, bagina was offered to the lake, and the name plaque was unveiled, followed by the formal handover of the lake.
The lake benefits nearly 150 acres of agricultural land, supporting farmers in cultivating their crops efficiently. It also provides water for around 85 households and their livestock. Additionally, the lake significantly contributes to groundwater recharge, benefiting nearby farmers’ borewells.
