On January 31, 2026, a comprehensive district-level training program for Shourya Disaster Management Volunteers was successfully organized at the Shri Veerashaiva Kalyana Mantapa, Gandhi Chowk Road, Yadgiri. Under the jurisdiction of the Kalaburagi Regional Office and the Yadgiri District Office, the event brought together volunteers and coordinators from the Yadgiri, Chittapur, and Jewargi project areas. The session saw an active participation of 300 individuals, all dedicated to strengthening the local emergency response framework.
The program was led by a distinguished panel of officials from the Dharmasthala central and regional offices. Key attendees included Shri Vivek V. Pais (Regional Director of Janajagruthi, Head Office, Dharmasthala), Shri Dinesh Poojary (Regional Director, Kalaburagi), and Shri Vasant B. (Director, Yadgiri District). Technical guidance was provided by Shri Rajesh K. of the Janajagruthi Vedike, along with Shri Kishore Kumar and Shri Jayawant Patgar from the Shourya Disaster Unit Head Office. The coordination at the taluk level was managed by Project Officers Shri Manjunath (Yadgiri), Shri Gururaj (Chittapur), and Shri Dinesh (Jewargi).
The training focused on defining the critical roles and responsibilities of Shourya volunteers during various disaster scenarios. Participants were encouraged to serve as role models within their respective zones and taluks by providing selfless service to the community. To demonstrate the impact of their work, a short video presentation was showcased, highlighting the life-saving efforts the Shourya team has already accomplished across Karnataka.
Beyond skill-building, the event served as a platform for organizational growth. New emergency response teams were officially formed at the taluk level, and leadership roles—including Masters and Captains—were appointed to streamline future operations. The program concluded with a collective vision to gain further government recognition for the Shourya team’s contributions, ensuring they remain a vital pillar of public safety and emergency assistance.
