Under the noble guidance of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade ji and the compassionate vision of Matrushree Hemavathi Heggade, the Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) successfully organized the “Vatsalya House Handover” ceremony in Ujire. This initiative, a hallmark of SKDRDP’s social welfare efforts, reached a new milestone on March 30, 2026, by providing a dignified home to Smt. Prema, a deserving member of the Vatsalya program.
The event was graced by Sri Sharath Krishna Paduvatnaya, Hereditary Administrative Trustee of Sri Janardhana Temple, Ujire, alongside Shri Anil Kumar S.S., Executive Director of SKDRDP. Other distinguished participants included Shri Mohan Kumar. Sri Mohan Shettigar, Sri Prashanth Jain, and local federation leaders Smt. Pushpavathi R. Shetty, Smt. Nalini, and Smt. Leelavathi. Their presence underscored the community’s collective support for this life-changing mission.
During the ceremony, the guests lauded the Vatsalya program for its profound impact on the marginalized. Sri Sharath Krishna Paduvatnaya highlighted how Matrushree Heggade’s vision has brought the “light of life” to those without shelter. Shri Anil Kumar S.S. provided a broader perspective, noting that this was the 873rd Vatsalya house handed over by the organization. He shared that SKDRDP currently supports 20,000 helpless families with monthly pensions and continues to provide essential infrastructure like house repairs, sanitation, and solar power, making the Vatsalya initiative a true beacon of hope for rural empowerment.
