A health check-up camp was organized at the Dharmashree Jnana Vikasa Kendra in Malagondanahalli, of Davanagere Rural Project. The program was inaugurated by Smt. Sakamma, the President of the Federation.
Dr. Sahana, Medical Officer at Bhagavan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, was the key resource person. She provided information on women’s personal health, healthy habits, and the symptoms and control of blood pressure and diabetes. She also gave advice on how to increase blood count. All the women present individually asked questions about their health problems and received answers. Shri Mahesh, an ophthalmologist from Aike Netralaya, gave a talk on eye health. Shri Veeresh, the Marketing Manager of Bhagavan Mahaveer Hospital, explained the facilities available at their hospital through the Arogya Raksha and Sampoorna Suraksha insurance schemes.
Smt. Yashoda, Project Officer, spoke about the useful information being provided to women through the Jnana Vikasa Women’s Program of the SKDRDP. and urged them to take advantage of these initiatives. She praised the commendable work of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade ji and Matrushree Hemavathi V. Heggade of the Rural Development Project for identifying and developing the last person in society socially, economically, and educationally.
