Handover of lake ceremony held at Nayakanahundi village, Hullahalli Taluk, under the ‘Nammuru Namma Kere’ program. This project, which involved the desilting and rejuvenation of the lake, was executed with financial support from the Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP). The successful handover ceremony was a collaborative effort involving the Gram Panchayat, the Lake Committee, and the enthusiastic local villagers.
The ceremony saw participation from key dignitaries, including District Director Vijayakumar Naganala and Project Officer Ganesh Nayak, who inaugurated the event by unveiling the plaque. Addressing the gathering, shri vijaykumar Naganala spoke about the project’s significance, noting this was the 869th lake developed under the state-wide “Nammuru Namma Kere” initiative. He then shared insights into the revered Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala’s 800-year history of community service and the tradition of the four-fold charity (Chaturvidha Dana), emphasizing the benefits of the rejuvenated lake.
Other speakers, like Janajagruthi Vedike Vice President Shri Varadaraj, urged villagers to fully utilize the revived lake, expressing gratitude for the organization’s selfless efforts. Lake Committee President Shri Chikkaswamy offered a heartfelt vote of thanks to Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade ji for the initiative, which will greatly benefit local farmers and their livestock. The rejuvenation of the lake stands as a powerful testament to community-focused development, ensuring prosperity and water security for the village.
