A Tobacco Awareness Programme was organized under the Noranakki of Channarayapatna. The programme was held at the Government High School, Padavan Village, with the participation of 80 students and attendees.

The chief guests included Smt, Shobha, Headmistress of the school, along with the teaching staff, and senior journalist Mr. Jayaram. During the programme, they highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and substance abuse on health and society. They emphasized that youth are valuable assets of the nation and that their energy and potential should be utilized positively. They also cautioned students against falling victim to addiction due to negative peer influence and other factors.
