Under the Nammuru Namma Kere Programme, Hanuman Lake in Bada village of Shiggaon Project Office was successfully rejuvenated and formally handed over to the village community. The rejuvenation was undertaken to restore the lake’s water storage capacity and ensure its sustainable use for agricultural, domestic, and environmental purposes.
The restored lake is expected to provide irrigation support to approximately 80 acres of agricultural land and benefit around 500 families in the village. The initiative is also expected to enhance groundwater recharge, improve water availability, and contribute to the sustainable management of local water resources.
