Smt. Anitha resident of Toralakki village, Bangarpete Taluk, Kolar District. Her husband owns a small land where he grows crops only during monsoon. The land dries in other seasons and due to a lack of other sources of income no crops can be grown in that land. So, to manage the family expenses, he had to work as a laborer in other seasons.
Smt. Anitha joined the Chowdeshwari SHG and borrowed first Pragathinidhi loan of Rs. 10,000 and bought 3 sheeps. After that she borrowed Rs. 50,000 and bought 2 cows and managed the household from the income she earned by selling milk to the dairy.
She got information in the monthly meetings of Jnanavikasa center. By study tours she got inspired by other self-employers and wanted to start her own self-employment. So, she borrowed loan of Rs 3,00,000 and planted rose, marigold, jasmine and kanakambaram plants in her land. Now once in a week she is selling flowers to the market. She gave job to two persons in her land. Now she earns income of Rs 10,000 to 15,000 per week and her family is living peacefully. She is giving education to her children through this income and it also helped for her life improvements.
