Smt.  Sharada B. is a member of Shri Hari SHG in Brahmavara Taluk. She lives with her husband and two children. Her two children are getting primary education. Her husband does labour work. She thought of becoming something in life so she joined the Shri Vishnu Jnanavikasa Centre, took guidance on self-employment and chosen the cotton wick business. At first, she used to make cotton wicks by hand. Later she borrowed Rs. 40,000 loan from group and bought a machine.  She buys the needed raw materials from Mangalore wholesale at low price. She makes 5000 cotton wicks per day, sales ready materials to Brahmavara wholesale and earns income of Rs. 500 to 600 per day.

Including her another two members of the group are also making the same business. She become an inspiration to others.  She proved that small business can create a self-reliable life.
