The Shourya volunteers are the warriors who selflessly rescue people from disasters. Philanthropy is an ultimate sacrifice and the service provided by Shourya team is commendable, said, Poojya Heggadeji in the valedictory ceremony of two days State level “Master and Captain” training held at SKRDP Head Office, Dharmasthala and released the informational book of Shourya.
NDRF’s 10th Battalion Chief Shantilal Jatia gave special training to the volunteers.
The Chief Executive Officer of SKDRDP BC Trust® Sri. Anil Kumar S S gave guidance to the volunteers and said Shourya team is the largest service force after NDRF.
The Regional Director of Janajagruthi Vedike Sri. Vivek V Pais gave information about the Shourya Team.
The Shourya uniforms and caps were distributed to the volunteers and prizes were given to 8 volunteers who gave CRP and rescued the people.
Nearly 10,460 volunteers are serving through 638 Shourya units across the State and among this there are 14 rapid teams. Poojya Heggadeji has provided total Rs. 2 crore valued safety kits and also 75,000 rupees Sampoorna Suraksha were given. So far, 1.74 lakh of disaster services and 2.02 lakh of social services were given by Shourya team and also the team has given services in the recent Wayanad disaster.
