Environmental Awareness Drive in Government Primary School at Karibailu of Kundapura

A vital environmental awareness program recently took place at the Government  Primary School in Karibailu. This initiative was a collaborative effort by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project BC Trust (Regd.), Kundapura – 2 Project Office, , the Government  Primary School, Karibailu, and the The program was formally opened by Shri Mahesh Kulal from the Shourya Disaster Management Unit, who lit the ceremonial lamp.

Shri Srikanth Shenoy, an environmentalist and progressive farmer, served as the key resource person. He highlighted how rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and climatic changes underscore an unhealthy environment. He emphasized the crucial need for a clean atmosphere to ensure pure air, urging attendees to plant and nurture various trees, including sacred fig (Ashwatha), basil (Tulasi), and other forest saplings. He also advocated for adopting organic farming methods and fostering a deep love for nature.

The program also included a welcome address by headmaster Shri Devayya Naik, followed by engaging competitions for the children, with prizes distributed to the winners. Shri Udaya Bovi, President of the SDMC, presided over the event. Dignitaries like Shri Ravi Naik, Federation President, Subramanya Kannanth ,SDMC immediate past president, and Smt. Jyothi, Zonal Supervisor were present. Shri Krishna Naik welcomed guests, and Smt. Uma delivered the vote of thanks, while Pradeep Kumar compered. The event concluded with a tree-planting drive on the school grounds.
