Smt. Savitramma, a resident of Gopalapura in Mysuru, started a brick business after her husband’s demise. Initially, everyone made fun of her, saying this business was only fit for men and required a huge workforce, but Savitramma did not lose her confidence and faced the hardships very bravely. Meanwhile, she joined a Self-Help Group (SHG) of SKDRDP and borrowed loans under the ‘Pragathinidhi’program. Today, she runs the brick business on her 2-acre land. When her son-in-law also passed away, her daughter joined the business, and she also joined an SHG of SKDRDP. Savitramma stated that running away from problems will not bring respect or fame; we need to face them to lead a beautiful life.
