SKDRDP Host Ill-Habits Awareness Program at Carmel PU College Bantwal

The Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) (Regd.) B.C. Trust and the Akhila Karnataka Jana Jagruthi Vedike, Bantwal Taluk, jointly organized a ‘Swasthya Sankalpa’ awareness program for the students of Carmel Pre-University College, Modankap. The event, focused on educating students about the dangers of ill-habits and addictions, was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Shri Shekhar Samani Kuriyala, a member of the Taluk Jana Jagruthi Vedike.

The key message was delivered by the Chief Resource Person, Shri Jayarama Poojary, retired Health Supervisor of Dakshina Kannada District. He provided detailed information to the students, emphasizing the importance of protecting their health and avoiding addiction in their future lives. He urged them to honor their parents’ trust, focus on achieving higher education, and strive to become exemplary citizens who bring pride and honour to their families and communities. The College Principal, Sister Maria Felcita, also addressed the students, encouraging them to utilize the valuable information provided during the session.

The program’s proceedings included the presence of Smt. Pavitra B.S., Shri Girish, Supervisor of the B.C. Road Sector, compered the event, while Smt. Ashalatha offered the welcome address, and student Kumari Vidya delivered the vote of thanks. The session concluded with a video screening of the short film, “Nashyavemba Naraka”, to further illustrate the program’s vital theme.
