Smt. Baby is a resident of Sajipa Munnur Village in Bantwal Taluk. She joined the Mallikeshwari Self Help Group (SHG), which is run by SKDRDP. Under SKDRDP’s Jnanavikasa Program, she received self-employment training. Due to a shortage of land, she could not pursue farming activities, so she began to grow jasmine flowers on her roof. Initially, it was difficult, but today she is able to earn a sustainable income and lead a contented life. Her son also received a pension under the Jnanavikasa Program. They initially borrowed Rs.10,000 for her son’s treatment. Later, she received financial assistance for the construction of her own house, for her children’s education, and also for self-employment. She stated that understanding SKDRDP’s programs benefited her in several ways and helped her lead a contented life.
