Pure Water Awareness Programme Held at Sarthavalli Village

The Pure Water Awareness Campaign (Shuddha Jala Abhiyana) was organized by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) at Sarthavalli village in Tiptur Taluk. As part of the campaign, a rally was conducted with the participation of students from Basavegowda Siddaramakka High School and local villagers to create awareness about the importance of using clean and safe drinking water.

Addressing the gathering, Taluk Project Officer Shri Uday K. stated that due to lack of awareness, many people continue to consume fluoride-contaminated water, which leads to various communicable and life-threatening diseases. He explained that under the guidance of Pujya Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade ji, SKDRDP has been undertaking significant efforts to create awareness about the benefits of pure drinking water and to establish Shuddha Ganga units across rural and hilly regions of the state.

He further informed that 571 Shuddha Ganga units have been established across the state so far, and that Tiptur Taluk has the highest number with 27 units, benefiting a large section of the local population. He urged all villagers to make use of pure drinking water and encourage others in their surroundings to do the same.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajashekar, Trustee of the Huchchammadevi Temple, remarked that while many people today focus only on profit, Pujya Dr. Veerendra Heggade ji has been working selflessly for the welfare of society through SKDRDP, from birth to death. He emphasized that the success of such noble initiatives depends on active public participation in social and religious activities.

The programme was attended by school headmaster Kantaraju, Gram Panchayat member Shashidhar, former Gram Panchayat president S. M. Chandrashekar, and other delegates
