On March 6, 2026, the inauguration of the Shuddha Ganga Unit was held at Shiramagondanahalli in the Davanagere district. The event was presided over by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Prabha Mallikarjun, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Davanagere Lok Sabha constituency. The program saw active participation from several dignitaries, including District Director Shri Laxman M., Farmers’ Organization Convener Ravikumar, Project Officers Shri Srinivas and Shri Pakkeerappa, Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Jayalakshmi, and former Gram Panchayat President Vinutha.

During her address, MP Prabha Mallikarjun highlighted that clean air, water, food, and hygiene are the fundamental pillars of human life. She emphasized the collective responsibility of managing natural resources effectively and urged the community to understand the critical importance of pure water. Praising the initiative, she specifically noted that the Shuddha Ganga units established by SKDRDP are vital for public health and strongly encouraged the local residents to make full and consistent use of this facility.
