Ayyanakere Lake Handover Program Successfully Held at Oderatturu Village, Honnali Taluk

The 925TH Ayyanakere Lake rejuvenated program was organized at Nammuru Namma Kere program of SKDRDP conducted Oderatturu Village, Honnali Taluk. The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Honnali MLA Shri Shantana Gowda, whose participation added prominence to the program. A total of 450–500 households are expected to benefit from this initiative, along with agricultural land spanning 800–1000 acres, reflecting the substantial impact on local livelihoods and farming activities.

During the program, detailed information regarding the rejuvenation of Ayyanakere was presented. The works undertaken included desilting and cleaning of the lake, enhancement of water storage capacity, strengthening of the bund, and improvement of water flow systems. These efforts are expected to significantly improve water availability and support agricultural productivity.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Shri Shantana Gowda emphasized the importance of conservation and judicious utilization of water resources. He conveyed the message, “If water is conserved, the future is secured,” and urged the community to actively participate in the protection and sustainable management of the lake.

Subsequent to the handover, the responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the lake was formally entrusted to the lake committee members, who assured their commitment towards its proper management. The program stands as a testament to community cooperation and serves as a model initiative for sustainable rural development and water conservation.
