Bilvarchana Puja and the handover of the 975th lake were held at Umbalebailu under the Shivamogga Project Office in the presence of former Karnataka Government Education Minister Sri Kimmane Rathnakar and the Regional Director. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of lake rejuvenation in strengthening water conservation, supporting agriculture and improving the availability of water resources for farming communities.

A total of 126 acres of agricultural land has been developed through the lake rejuvenation initiative, benefiting 75 farmers. In addition, 16 borewells and 4 open wells have been recharged, contributing to improved groundwater availability and supporting sustainable agricultural activities in the surrounding area.
