Smt. Shobha Santhosh Kumar, a resident of Santha village in Bailhongal Taluk, has been an active member of an SKDRDP Self Help Group for seven years. Her family initially started a hotel business. However, due to a labor shortage, the venture didn’t yield a profit, so they transitioned to an agarbatti (incense stick) business.
They successfully borrowed Rs. 1,35,000 under the Pragathinidhi program and purchased an agarbatti machine from Bengaluru. They currently spend about Rs.15,000 on raw material monthly and now earn a stable income from the business.
The SKDRDP’s Jnanavikasa program transforms women into business entrepreneurs through its training. They are truly grateful for the support provided by the Jnanavikasa program.
