Taluk-Level Women’s Seminar Held at Doddaballapur

A Taluk-Level Women’s Seminar was organized by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) at the DPV Hall, Doddaballapur. The programme aimed to promote women’s empowerment, family harmony, legal awareness, and social development.

The programme was inaugurated by Smt, Prabha Nagaraj, President of the Doddaballapur City Municipal Council. In her inaugural address, she emphasized that women should strive to reach greater heights in society. She stated that women today enjoy greater freedom and are actively contributing in every field, playing a vital role in the nation’s progress.

The chief guest, Smt, Roopashree Vishwanath, Lecturer at Vinayaka Pre-University College, Nittur, delivered an informative session on family harmony and women’s empowerment. She highlighted that women have made remarkable achievements in Karnataka and continue to excel in various sectors. She explained that women actively participate in both agricultural and non-agricultural activities while effectively managing their families. She also stressed the importance of legal awareness and appreciated SKDRDP’s efforts in creating awareness among women about their rights, responsibilities, and their role in society.

During the programme, Shri Umarabba, District Director, Bengaluru Rural District, presented an overview of SKDRDP’s social welfare initiatives. He informed the gathering that 16,000 Vatsalya Kits have been distributed across the state, 1,642 Vatsalya Houses have been established, and financially vulnerable individuals identified under the programme receive a monthly allowance of Rs.1,000.

The event was attended by Shri Nagesh, Vice President of the District Janajagruthi Vedike, Bengaluru Rural; Smt, Shashikala Nagaraj, President of Dargajogahalli Gram Panchayat; A cultural programme was also organized as part of the event. A total of 458 participants attended the seminar.
