Smt. Neelam is a resident of Nagoba Village, Dharwad Taluk. She is a member of SwayamSidhha self-help group. She lives in a family of 9 members. Her husband used to work at Soda factory with a salary of just Rs. 6000 a month. It was very difficult for them to manage the family. In 2020, she borrowed Rs. 30,000 of Pragathinidhi loan and started ice-cream business. Then in 2022, she borrowed Rs. 70,000/- of Pragathinidhi loan to buy ice-cream making machine. She started gaining profit of Rs. 300/- to 500/- every day. Presently she borrowed Rs. 3,00,000/- of SIDBI loan and started Ice-cream Shop. Now she earns income of Rs. 25,000/- to 30,000/- every month.

She says all the growth was possible because of the guidance she got from the SKDRDP officials in the SHG meetings. She heartily thanks Pooja Heggadeji and SKDRDP for being a shelter to her life.
