The Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project successfully concluded a seven-day de-addiction camp in Mulabagilu taluk, Kolar district, marking a significant step in its ongoing mission to create an addiction-free society. The valedictory ceremony held at the Kalikamba Temple Auditorium, celebrated the remarkable transformation of 46 individuals who committed to a new, healthier life. This camp the 1926th of its kind organized by the project, underscores the widespread impact of Dharmasthala’s commitment to social welfare.
The camp the first of its kind in Kolar district, was meticulously managed by camp officer Divakar Poojari from Dharmasthala, who provided essential guidance and encouragement. Participants engaged in a holistic programme, beginning with morning yoga and continuing through the day with meditation, bhajans, and cultural activities designed to foster mental transformation. A symbolic ‘Madyasura’ effigy was ceremoniously burned on the sixth day, representing the campers’ resolve to conquer their addiction.
Regional Director Shri Seenappa highlighted the project’s core objective to empower individuals to live with dignity and contribute positively to society. Tahsildar Smt. Geetha lauded the programme, emphasizing its importance in helping men overcome addiction and fulfill their family and social responsibilities. Dignitaries including Ashok, President of the De-addiction Camp, M.K.
