Free tailoring training program for women at Sri Duradundeshwara Sabha Bhavan at Sankeshwara of Chikkodi, was organized by Shri Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, aims to equip women with skills for self-sufficient living. The program was officially inaugurated by Shri Bhimarav Dadugol, Gram Panchayat member, who praised the Dharmasthala project as a “beacon of hope” for rural communities, embodying Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of “Ram Rajya” by transforming lives and creating new opportunities for the poor. He extended his best wishes, calling all participants fortunate to be part of such a noble endeavor.
Shri Vinayaka Kakambi, the Field Project Officer and chief guest, highlighted that this free tailoring training for 40 women from self-help groups falls under the broader Mahila Jnana Vikasa program. This program’s core objective is to offer various vocational trainings, fostering self-employment and empowering women to become financially independent. He emphasized that this is a “model program” of the Dharmasthala Project, designed to bring women into the social mainstream, enabling them to contribute to their families’ development and financial prosperity, thereby illuminating their lives.
The event saw active participation from Shri Madhumathi K., the tailoring trainer, who underscored that the Dharmasthala institution is unique in its commitment to providing free training and employment opportunities to women. The program was presided over by Aruna Suryavamshi, with Smt. Sujatha Naik compering the event gracefully. Smt. Anjana Valikar extended a warm welcome, and Annayya Basavanapujari delivered the vote of thanks. The inauguration was well-attended by various dignitaries and community members, including service representative Savitri and members of the Noorajaan Self-Help Group.
