Distribution of “Sujnana Nidhi” Scholarships to 118 Students in Ramanagara District

Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project BC Trust (R) Ramanagara taluk organized a scholarship letter distribution ceremony for 118 students under “Sujnana Nidhi Scholarship Program” for the year 2024-25.
The program was inaugurated by the founder president of the Akhila Karnataka District Janajagruthi Vedike, Shri Chikkannaiah, who lit the lamp. The president of the Ramanagara Urban Development Authority, Shri Chethan Kumar, attended as the chief guest and stated that the SKDRDP is working to support the development of society and that such organizations should be supported. He added that the project acts as a bank’s BC (Business Correspondent) representative, providing loans to members of self-help groups at a very low-interest rate. He clarified that the project is not a micro-finance institution and noted the confusion people experienced during the ordinance period. He emphasized that the project not only provides loans but also performs social work, and everyone should cooperate with such an organization to help develop their villages.
The District Director of the Rural Development Project, Shri Jayakara Shetty, spoke about the benefits of the project, its 42-year journey, and the importance of children respecting their parents. He advised the children to become good sons and daughters to their parents and good citizens to society.
The program was also attended by the District President of the Jaya Karnataka Organization, Shri Ravikumar; Project Officer, Shri Muraleedhara; and others. Scholarship approval letters were distributed to 118 students from self-help group members’ families who are pursuing technical and professional education. A total amount of Rs 56,64,000 has been sanctioned under this scholarship. The event was attended by all 118 students and their parents.
