Huluse Lake Rejuvenated under “Nammuru Namma Kere” Initiative

Huluse Lake in Somwarpet Taluk, Kodagu district, was rejuvenated under the “Nammuru Namma Kere” initiative of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (R) as part of the restoration of 918 lakes. The 1.5-acre lake now provides irrigation to around 2 acres of farmland, benefiting more than 175 farmers and nearly 200 families, while recharging groundwater and supporting about 65 borewells.

The Bagina offering and lake handover ceremony was jointly organized by SKDRDP, the Somwarpet Pragathi Bandhu Self-Help Group Federations of Shaniwarsante and Kodlipete, and the Huluse Lake Development Committee. The program was presided over by Lake Committee President Mr. Bharath Huluse, inaugurated by Shri Mahanta Swamiji of Shri Kallu Math, and attended by Taluk Project Officer Mr. Hanumanthappa Angadi along with other dignitaries and community members.
