Under the Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), Vatsalya house handover was constructed and officially handed over to a beneficiary in Hosanijagal village, Sompura Hobli. . During the ceremony, Dr. Heggade ji handed over the keys to the beneficiary, Jayamma, emphasizing that the “Vatsalya” program was specifically designed to ensure that single, destitute, or widowed women feel supported by society rather than abandoned.
In his address, Dr. Heggade ji highlighted that the organization’s mission extends beyond housing; it aims to build confidence in women by providing essential food grains and monthly pensions. He further noted that the SKDRDP is committed to diverse social welfare activities, including the renovation of ancient temples, the development of the dairy industry, the rejuvenation of local lakes, and providing health grants of up to Rs.20,000 alongside student scholarships. Smt. Shraddha Amith, who was also present, remarked that the institution’s primary goal is to empower women to live lives of self-respect and prosperity.
The event saw significant participation from local leaders and project officials. Siddaraju, the former President of the Gram Panchayat, expressed deep gratitude, stating that providing a home for a single woman in a backward village like Hosanijagal felt as though Lord Manjunatha Swamy himself had blessed the community. Other key participants included Harish, the supervisor of the local Dhanalakshmi Sangha, Regional Director Sheenappa Rai, District Project Officer Sujatha, as well as Sangeetha, Jyothi Shetty, and numerous other union members and social activists.
