Million Saplings Planting Programme at Bantwal Taluk

The Million Saplings Planting programme organized by SKDRDP in collaboration with Forest Department at Salumarada Timmakka tree park, Bantwal Taluk. The programme was started by planting saplings and fruit seed balls.

The Minister of Forest Sri. Eshwar B Khandre said, “The environment is protecting us from the climate changes we are experiencing today. Everyone must plant at least one plant in front of their house.” He then continued to appreciate SKDRDP for creating such awareness programmes to protect environment.

Rev. Shri. D. Veerendra Heggadeji, President of SKDRDP said “with planting new saplings we must also protect the trees which already exist. Only then we can protect greenery”.

Former Karnataka Minister Sri. Ramanath Rai said Government is constructing one tree park in each taluk in the name of Salu Marada Timmakka, which helps to supply fresh air in the environment.

The Chief Executive Officer of SKDRDP Sri. Anil Kumar S. S. gave introductory speech and welcomed the dignities to the programme.

Sri. Rajesh Nayak, MLA Bantwal Taluk, President of Cashew Development Department Smt. Mamatha Gatti, Mangalore Circle CF and DCF, Regional Director of Udupi Sri. Dugge Gowda, Regional Director of Agriculture Sri. Manoj Menezes, Regional Director of Janajagruthi Vedike Sri. Vivek V. Pais, Director of D.K-1 Sri. Mahabala Kulal, Officials of Forest Department, Project Officers and other SKDRDP officials were present in the programme.
