Yantrashri – Launch of Mechanized Paddy Cultivation in 500 Acres of Land

In the earlier days, every farmer depended on paddy cultivation for their livelihood. But now they are growing arecanut, rubber and other one-way crops and the number of paddy growers is dropping day by day. Even the paddy field are being converted to arecanut farm.

By recognizing this, Rev. Shri. D. Veerendra Heggadeji, President of SKDRDP, formed a programme named ‘’Yantrashri – Mechanized Paddy Cultivation System’’ to encourage paddy farming through modern technology. It will speed up the work by replacing labours with machines, reduces the cost and increases the yield.

The farmers will get all the needed information at their doorstep. The agriculture supervisor will visit the paddy farmers and guide them on using the machines, selecting good seeds, preparing nursery trays, fertilization, diseases and pest control, GST bills, etc.

Under the guidance of Poojya Heggadeji, SKDRDP has arranged a Yantrashri programme on 500 acres of land in Belthangady Taluk, where the farmers are already preparing the paddy nursery trays. The Project Officer of Belthangady Sri. Surendra launched the programme and gave information about yantrashri programme, GST bill, E- Invoice and PMFBY.
