The “Vatsalya” house handover ceremony was held today at Mariyamma Halli Tanda, Hosapete Taluk, Vijayanagara District. The Vatsalya House was officially handed over to Lakshmamma.
Chief Executive Officer Shri Anil Kumar S.S. addressed the gathering, noting that many women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) utilize “Pragathinidhi” annually to provide higher education for their children, helping them secure good jobs. He further explained that under the Vatsalya Program, identified beneficiaries receive 3 to 5 kg of a specialized 5-grain nutritional mix every month. He guided the audience on how SKDRDP continues to empower women financially while implementing various social welfare programs.
Guest speaker and former Taluk Panchayat member, Shri Ekambaresh Nayaka, expressed his pride, stating that SKDRDP has designed numerous schemes for the development of Tanda families. He added that the construction of a “Vatsalya” house in their locality is a matter of great joy for the residents. Shri Nataraj Badami, State President of Akhila Karnataka Janajagruti Vedike, also lauded the special initiatives led by the Heggade family.
The event was attended by Regional Director Shri Chandrashekhar J., District Director Satish Shetty, and Town Panchayat President Vijaya Bai. Other key participants included Project Officers Manjunath Nayaka and Sudha Gaonkar, Coordinator Rekha, along with service representatives, local leaders, SHG members, and media personnel.
